November is here – can you believe it?! Thanksgiving and Christmas preparations will soon be in full swing, but don’t panic! We’ve got you covered with all the holiday happenings in the Twin Falls area. Whether you need to buy early Christmas gifts, are on the search for a holiday meal, or if you’re just looking for some family fun this season, see the following list of local events so you can mark your calendars! Here are some of the November happenings and events in Twin Falls and the Magic Valley:

  • 7th Annual Holiday Shopping Expo.

    If you’re on the search for local and unique holiday gifts, this is the place to be the first Saturday in November! Admission is FREE and there will be plenty of vendors to get you in the mood for the season. There will also be door prize drawings all day (as well as a grand prize $100 Fred Meyer gift card!), and you can vote on your favorite ugly Christmas sweaters! You can find all the details here.

  • 100th Anniversary of WWI Presentation @ Twin Falls Public Library.

    Just in time for Veteran’s Day, prepare your heart to honor and thank our troops by checking out this once in a lifetime presentation looking back at what happened before the Armistice. Like all library events, this is FREE and open to the public. You can find all the information here.

  • Serving Those Who Served Luncheon.

    Veteran’s Day gives us the opportunity to celebrate and honor the bravery and sacrifice of all our United States vets. Enjoy a short prayer service and celebratory Thanksgiving-style lunch put on by the parishioners of St. Ignatius Church on Veteran’s Day to honor local veterans and their families. The event is FREE but seating is also limited, so please contact the church at 208-734-3664 (or at [email protected]) to RSVP.

  • Celebration of Gratitude: A Thanksgiving Musical Celebration in Twin Falls.

    This is a FREE musical celebration just in time for the Thanksgiving holiday, and since it falls on Veteran’s Day, there will also be musical arrangements to honor America. Arrive early to get good seats! You can find more information here.

    • LOCATION: Latter Day Saints Stake Center @ 2085 S. Temple Dr. in Twin Falls
  • Anything Potato Cooking Contest.

    Want to stretch those holiday cooking muscles? Enter your favorite potato recipe in the contest or come as a taste tester! It’s FREE to enter the contest, but you still need to apply for a spot.   • Community Thanksgiving Dinner.

    This is a FREE Thanksgiving dinner for anyone and everyone in our community to enjoy together! There are even FREE raffles. Did we mention it’s FREE! Come enjoy the holiday with the entire town.

    • LOCATION: Radio Rondevoo @ 241 Main Ave. North in Twin Falls
  • 12th Annual Mini-Cassia Turkey Trot.

    Designed for people of all ages and athletic abilities, this Thanksgiving Day 5k is a tradition all its own! The course is mostly flat, and is both wheelchair- and stroller-friendly, and proceeds benefit local programs. Prizes and medals are awarded at the end to males and females in three different age ranges. You can find all of the information on location and registration fees here.

  • Rupert Elks Lodge Community Thanksgiving Day Meal.

    If you want to participate in the Turkey Trot but aren’t sure you’ll make it home in time for dinner, then just stay in the Mini-Cassia area and check out another FREE meal for the entire community! (It’s FREE, but freewill offerings will still be accepted and appreciated if given, as they go to benefit the Rupert Elks Lodge.) And get this: if you live in the Rupert area and would like a free Thanksgiving Day meal delivered, you can sign up by November 16th! Call the Elks Lodge at 208-436-4852 for additional information. Did we mention it’s FREE?!

    Just because Veteran’s Day and Thanksgiving Day end doesn’t mean we should stop the gratitude! If you’re a veteran, head over to Bridgeview Estates the Tuesday after Thanksgiving for a free breakfast to celebrate you and your service to our country and community.
